Suwanee Greenway – GUTS Members Group Run
Sunday, June 8th @ 7:30 a.m.
Run distance: 5 + miles
Mark your calendars for the next GUTS group run coming up this Sunday. We’ll be exploring the Suwanee Greenway at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8th. The Greenway is located in Suwanee and offers 9 miles worth of fun running on different surfaces. There is the soft blacktop Greenway, dirt trails, road and some wooden walkways. We will meet and start the run from the McGinnis Ferry parking lot.
Please e-mail Debbi at debbi@usapools.com with the subject line IT’S NOT EASY BEING GREEN if you will be coming along for the run. GUTS will be providing bagels & snacks so RSVP’s are appreciated.
As always, we will divide into mini groups to accommodate different pace levels and miles you’d like to run. The Greenway goes out for 9 miles but you can do different loops and catch some trails etc. You really can do whatever mileage you’d like. There are many directional signs on Greenway. If you are planning to do at least 5 out and 5 back you would want to carry your own water bottle (not sure if fountains work).
DIRECTIONS:
NOTE: There is no parking fee required. The parking lot we are meeting at only holds about 15 cars but there is a huge sports complex (can’t miss it) behind that encourages Greenway parking. They also have restrooms available (also on the Greenway itself).
Suwanee Greenway is located in North Gwinnett County (right where South Forsyth, North Fulton and Gwinnett meet).
• 285 North to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard (North Exit)
• Approximately 15 miles turn right on McGinnis Ferry
• .9 miles turn right onto Burnett Road right into the parking lot (there is a small green sign that tells you the next right is the greenway parking lot)
